City to Host Luncheon Spotlighting Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence

The Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence launched the "Top 20 by 2020" campaign in September of 2008 to move Kentucky to a top national ranking in education. Madisonville Named Tree City USA by Arbor Day Foundation

The City of Madisonville announces that it has been named a Tree City USA community by the National Arbor Day Foundation for the fourteenth time.  The recognition results from the City of Madisonville's commitment to community forestry.....MORE DETAILS

City Accepting Applications for Police Officer Position

The City of Madisonville will now be taking applications for the position of Police Officer.  Comprehensive testing will be administered which includes written, fitness, psychological and physical examinations.  An extensive background check will be performed.....MORE DETAILS

Madisonville Fire Department Awarded $162,844 Federal Grant

On February 4, 2009, the Emergency Preparedness and Response Directorate of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) awarded the Madisonville Fire Department $162,844 in federal funding as part of the 2008 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

This funding will be used for fire operations that are necessary to handle emergencies in the safest and most effective manner possible.
