Plenty To Do This Fall in TBTOE!

Just because the temperature is starting to drop and the leaves are beginning to change colors, doesn't mean that there is not a wide variety of activities happing in Madisonville.

Kidapalooza, football games, bike safety rodeo, BAJA 5K run & 1 mile fun walk, and a Veteran's Day parade are just some of the many activities that you can enjoy this Fall in The Best Town On Earth.

So check out the calendar on the city's website (www.madisonvillegov.com), visit our page on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter to keep informed on all the fun things happening in TBTOE.

Madisonville Healthway Unveiled

At the ribbon cutting for the new Trover Health System Wellness Park, an outdoor walking trail with fitness stations, the City of Madisonville, in conjunction with the Community Improvement Foundation and other local partners, unveiled the Madisonville Healthway.

The Heathway utilizes existing sidewalks and pathways to link the City Park to the Trover Health System campus in a route that covers 6 miles. Signage, located at City Park and near Trover's Fitness Formula/Sports Medicine facility, outlines the route the Healthway covers.

The Healthway idea came out of the New City initiative that Madisonville and Hopkins County recently completed.

Kidapalooza - An Event for Kids and the Adults that Love Them

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 24 as downtown Madisonville hosts the 2nd Annual Madisonville Kidapalooza. The event features fun and games, take-away crafts, live music, and much more all free of charge from 10 AM - 2 PM on Main, Court, and Union streets in downtown Madisonville.

Last year over 500 people enjoyed this kid friendly event that also will showcase the artistic talents of local youth through a juried sidewalk art contest. So make plans to be part of Western Kentucky's premier kid friendly event.

Be Counted in 2010

The U.S. Census Bureau is issuing a call to action for every resident of our nation to be counted in 2010. The 2010 Census is important as this will determine the distribution of more than $300 billion dollars of government funding for critical community services and it impacts our voice in Congress.

The 2010 Census will contain only 10 questions and will only take about 10 minutes to complete and will be mailed out early next year. So please make plans to participate in this very important event.
